Otherwise known as Mitchell's new toy.

Hopefully it doesn't turn into one of those "I swear I'll feed and walk and take care of it and love it every day, then to only become a faded memory as soon as something else comes along" sorts of things. But alas, as I own a metal detector and Rosetta Stone, both of which have barely made it out of their packaging, I am not really one to talk. And since we're on to meal #5 in the smoker, things look promising. We started with salmon, which was actually good, but Mitchell hates salmon, so that was kind of sad. And we had some over-cooked bison steaks, but who knows how to cook buffalo, anyway? And then we had pizza night, in which we learned about the importance of seasoning a new pizza stone - as the pizza would literally not remove itself from the stone. The second pizza we made on the neighbor's stone that is well-used, and that turned out to be delicious. Last night we had chicken sausages that were DELICIOUS.

And TONIGHT - it's pork ribs and chocolate chip cookies! Ribs: 2 1/2 hours in the rack with rub, 2 hours on the grill basted with apple juice and BBQ sauce. Messy and delicious.

RIP Trager Smoker. Hope you like your new home.
